About MD Thompson

We are an independent electrical wholesaler based in Norwich. The business was originally started in 1971 and then became a partnership in 1993. In 2014 we became a Limited company with Simon Basey, Shane Wickham and Karl Hunter joining Glenn Thompson the previous owner as company directors. We take pride in being a friendly and independent supplier to over 1200 customers mainly throughout East Anglia but also across the UK.

Our customer base includes the following sectors; Electrical Contractors, Retail Shops, Aerial Riggers, Bars and Restaurants, Hotels and Hair Salons. Our trade counter and lighting display area also welcomes the general public.

We have our own delivery vehicles which deliver throughout East Anglia on a daily basis. We also have access to a courier network to enable the whole of the UK to be covered on a next working day service for orders placed before midday the previous day.

Our strong stock holding backed by the fast turnaround of special orders many of which are available on a next day delivery to us enables the fulfilment of customer orders in a quick and efficient manner.

Our dedicated lighting display area allows us to show a number of decorative and commercial fittings with the option to order anything from the numerous lighting suppliers we deal with.
Well I have to share my experience. I went to MD Thompson today to buy a few electrical bits and the staff could not be more helpful. Have to say the service was fantastic.
